The fun meeting the artists for the Handcrafted Hoedown for the Holiday's continues!
The big event is just 8 days away! Did I mention that we have a few apples left to sell, we'll be making fresh apple cider donuts and we're pressing one final batch of apple cider just for the sale!?
Today I'm going to introduce you to the artist behind Feli Folk - Lauryn Felicijan. Lauryn has a special place in my heart as she was one of the sitters that helped looked after our girls when they were little and living at the very busy orchard. When I saw she was creating beautiful beaded earrings I knew I needed to see if she wanted to participate in the sale.
Let's take a moment to meet Lauryn of FeliFolk a little more!
How many Handcrafted Hoedown for the Holidays have you been a part of?
This is my first Handcrafted Hoedown I've been a part of and I'm so excited to have been welcomed to join this year!
What is your favorite thing about this craft sale?
The Lapaceks hold a special place in my heart because I've been visiting the orchard since I was little and I am a huge apple lover! I also had the pleasure of babysitting the young ladies who are now running this lovely event.
What kind of gifts do you look for when you go shopping for the holiday's?
I try my best to shop small and support small businesses and local artists when gift shopping!
Please share your favorite holiday recipe:
I always look forward to a green been casserole and my grandmas cream cheese pumpkin rolls.
Pumpkin Rolls
Beat:
3 eggs
1 c sugar
2/3 c pumpkin (the Lapacek's still have pie pumpkins for sale!)
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp soda
3/4 c flour
FILLING:
1 (8 oz.) pkg cream cheese
1 c powdered sugar
2 T butter
3/4 tsp vanilla
Whip until smooth.
Line a jelly roll pan with waxed paper. Coat paper with butter. Pour batter over paper. Bake for approximately 10 minutes at 375-degrees. When done, take from oven and cover with a wet towel. Roll up the long way and let set until completely cool. (Leave paper on until cool.)
When cool, unroll and spread with filling and roll again (removing paper). Cover with new waxed paper and with aluminum foil. Freeze. Slice 1/4 to 1/2 inch slices and serve frozen.
What's your favorite holiday movie?
The Grinch with Jim Carrey
