I have a confession to make. Bella is not the Bella apples real name. It's real name is Rebella. When we had it labeled Rebella no one would even try it - my theory is it sounds too much like the disease we get vaccinated again. Once I removed two little letters - voila - the Bella has become a popular eating apple!
Approximate Ripening Date: September 7th
Flavor: Pleasing combination of sweet and tart flavors. It does have a thicker skin so if that bothers you, you may decide to peel it before eating.
Baking: The Bella cooks down somewhat - it's chunky but not solid.
