1st Monkey Adventure on the Lapacek's Orchard Boat

Many of you have seen that the boat is no longer at the orchard and my daughter Pip wrote a great story telling you all why. If you missed the first story be sure to read it HERE before you continue. Below is the first adventure the monkey family had as they ventured out on the Lapacek's Orchard Boat ... enjoy!

The monkeys were going to see one of their old friends to see if she knew who and where the unknown culprit might have taken the bananas but along the way they ran into some things.

The first magical encounter was on the very brink of morning on the second day at sea. Everyone had been sleeping for a while except for Tommy. He was getting a weird feeling that he had never felt before. Since this was happening to him he decided to go onto the boat's dock and look out to the sea for a bit till he felt sleepy. He considered waking up his parents but decided that he wanted to let them sleep at least for a little while longer.

Tommy was thinking about what would happen if the unknown person hadn’t stolen their bananas. He was very sad that they had stolen them but he couldn’t help but think of all the adventures they were bound to go on.

“Why are you smiling?” asked a small sleepy voice, (Annika) Tommy soon discovered.

“I feel bad that our bananas got stolen but I’m very excited for the upcoming adventures,” he admits to her.

“I know, I’m thinking about that too, I can't wait,” she said with a dreamy smile on her face.

With that agreement they both stared out to the beautiful, calm, shining sea. The sky was reflecting off the sea and the sun made the sea shimmer with golden light.

All of a sudden a slight ripple in the ocean made Tommy break from his daydreaming state. Is that a natural ripple or is something causing it? Tommy wondered. As he was thinking that Annika started to whisper.

“What is that?” she asked quietly. As soon as those words came out of her mouth a beautiful teal dolphin with silver gems poked his head out of the water. Soon after came a second dolphin that was equally beautiful with dark periwinkle skin and silver gems just like the first dolphin. The two monkeys were speechless. Tommy couldn’t believe his eyes and had to blink several times to make sure it was real.

“Oh my goodness,” said Anninka breathlessly. The dolphins smiled at them and swam closer to the boat indicating for them to get on their backs.

“I. Think. They. Want. Us. To. Ride. Them.” said Tommy slowly trying not to get his hopes up.

“I think so too!!!!” exclaimed Annika.

“Ok, let's go ask mom and dad.”

“Yes, let's go!”

“Mom, dad, sorry to wake you but you have to come see this!” Tommy and Annika said at

the same time.

“Ok, ok,” grumbled Leo (father monkey)

Tommy and Annika grabbed their parents' hands and led them to the side of the boat where they left the dolphins. When they got there the dolphins had left the side of the boat and began to do flips and tricks in the sunrise. They both went up to the side of the boat and called out to the dolphins after a couple of minutes of watching their tricks and the dolphins gracefully swam over. They offered their backs and waited for them to get on.

“Can we please ride them? You will be able to see us the whole time,” asked Annika earnestly.

“Of course you can! Hold on tight!” said Mya. (mom)

With that Tommy and Annika jumped into the ocean and grabbed onto the dolphins fins. The dolphins began to pick up speed and they whooped with joy. They dove under the water and saw the ocean at its golden hour underneath. It was so beautiful they couldn’t believe it. Colorful fish and seaweed, crabs and oysters. They scooped up a couple of soft pink clams to give as a gift to the Lapaceks and saw gorgeous seahorses. After 2 hours that felt like 10 minutes passed the dolphins brought them back to the boat and the monkeys climbed off. They gave the clams to their parents and thanked them for allowing them to go on the thrilling adventure.

“Thank you guys so much!” Annika whispered in her dolphins ear.

“This has been the coolest experience ever,” whispered Tommy in his dolphin ear, smiling wide and thanking his dolphin with his eyes.

“I love waking up to this!!” Tommy and Annika told their parents, “Amazing adventures are sure to come.”
